The order of service for Morning Prayer can be downloaded here

We are a Church on the move.  Throughout 2020 our Church building is closed for a radical redesign.  You can read more about it here.  During the year we will be worshipping elsewhere and remembering that we are called to be a pilgrim people.  Our 8am service is as traditional language Holy Communion service with sermon.  During 2020 this service is taking place at St Stephen’s Tivoli.  St Stephen’s Church, St Stephen’s Road, GL51 3AB.  Map

Our 10am Service is a family-friendly, inclusive service of Holy Communion is our main Sunday service.  It includes both traditional and modern hymns and worship songs.  Our services follow the seasons of the church year and our preaching aims to offer intellectual and spiritual challenge.  Everyone is welcome to stay afterwards for tea and coffee.

On the first Sunday of the month, we have an all-age Communion service with children involved in the prayers and an all-age address. During 2020 this service is taking place at St James School.  Our informal worship group lead our singing. Sometimes there are christenings as part of this service.  It usually lasts less than an hour.  St James School, Merestones Road.  GL50 2RS.  Map

On other Sundays of the month we are meeting at Cheltenham College Chapel.  This is a more formal service with our robed choir.  On the second and third Sundays of the month we have children’s groups.  The children are in Church at the beginning of the service, bringing candles up to the altar in the first hymn and then going to our “Jesus and Me” (JAM) Sunday school.  This service usually lasts just over an hour.  Cheltenham College Chapel, Bath Road.  GL537AD.  Map

Teatime Church 4.30pm

Usually on the third Sunday of the month we have Teatime Church in St James’ school.  This is a really informal service for busy families and boisterous kids!  There is a half hour service involving singing, crafts and communion.  This is followed by a party tea and is over by around 5.15, so you can get home for bathtime.

Choral Evensong, 6pm

Usually on the second and fourth Sundays of the month we have Choral Evensong at St Stephen’s Tivoli.  This is a Book of Common Prayers service, usually without a sermon and lasts around 45 minutes.

Immerse, 6pm

Usually, on the first Sunday of the month we often have an informal service called ‘Immerse’ which takes place at St Stephen’s, Tivoli and lasts around and hour.  From time to time we also meet together with other churches in the south Cheltenham team for joint services hosted by one of our churches.
