South Cheltenham Churches employ a youth worker for the benefit of young people in the area who is Hanna Stürcken.
Hi, my name is Hanna and I am the youth worker for the South Cheltenham Churches and CNC. I grew up in Switzerland, where I came to faith during my late teen years, ever since then I have been involved in youth and young adults work on a volunteer basis. I trained and worked in insurance and banking for several years before starting my degree in German literature and history. Last year I completed a traineeship with a church in Cambridge, where I mainly worked in youth work and Sunday club. On a more personal level, I have an unhealthy obsession with chocolate Hobnobs and enjoy playing the Ukulele.
The current programs are:
Monday evening 7-8.30pm at Church House: Rock Solid. A youth group where we play games and discuss the big questions of life.
Fortnightly Wednesdays 6-7.30pm: Rock. 11-14 year olds. We share a meal at someone’s house, play a few games and look at a passage of a Bible.
Fortnightly Sundays 7-8.30 at Emmanuel Church: NextGen. 14-18 year olds. A relaxed evening of exploring the Bible, playing games and spending time together over snacks and drinks.
