Following our experiment last month, using the choir stalls and high altar for the 8am service, a conversation took place last Sunday about what we might do in the future. It was felt that while it may be aesthetically pleasing to some to be closer to the high altar and while it gave a sense of a more gathered congregation, the logistics of the steps and the cramped seating arrangements together with the poor lighting and sound meant that it was a less practical space. It was decided, therefore, to revert to the previous arrangement but the congregation will explore gathering in the pews towards the front of the Church, rather than spreading themselves out further. It was felt that this had been a useful experiment and Nick suggested that it was important for us to continue to think about how we might best use the differing worshipping spaces within the Church.
