Following the submission of the Faculty Application in October 2016 the Project Board has been in detailed discussions with the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) to firm up and agree the scheme design. As a result of the discussions greater detailed work on the design of the scheme, including structural, mechanical & engineering aspects, flooring, glazing, heating, lighting, audio/sound and landscaping has and is being undertaken. This additional information is being collated for submission in June. In consultation with the DAC and in the event that some pews may be retained the Archdeacon has issued a written notice under the Faculty Jurisdiction Rules 2015 for the ‘removal of two pews for experimental purposes’. This relates to the two west facing pews at the rear of the church which have been removed for the testing of their stability and size in relation to a potentially reordered church with a new and raised wooden floor.
