We had a stand in Suffolk Parade again – and we engaged with the community in the Parish and talk to people about what we do! Like PRAY! We asked ”What are your daily needs, concerns?” and “What would you like us to pray for?” . We staffed the gazebo from 10 am – 5 pm. We talked to over one hundred people who stopped, talked about their worries and thanks and then wrote a short sentence prayer. They were very pleased that we were going to pray over a period of time and not ‘just once and throw out’.
These are now in the Memorial Chapel and will be there for the whole of June. Please take time to go and read them – and pray them. Some people did not want prayer or feel the need for it – sometimes that set up some interesting conversations!
An enormous thank you to the Team – poster painters, gazebo erecters, front – of-table peoples, encouraging people, who worked tirelessly and smiled for their allocated time and beyond. It was really appreciated by those who were carefully listened to. Liz Mitchell
