What a fabulous display of trees we had last weekend for the annual Festival of Decorated Christmas Trees at Emmanuel Church, Naunton Park. There were the artistic, the jolly, the thought-provoking, the reflective, the clever … and all proving that people’s imagination knows no bounds! A real treat for the visitors, who were invited to vote for their favourite tree (many pondering their decision over a cup of tea or coffee and a mince pie). This year’s vote winners were: Children’s tree: An Edible Christmas (The Gingerbread Gang); Adult tree: A Dickens of a Tree (Gillian Steels and Ruth End; Children’s Group: Deer, oh deer! (Year 1, Naunton Park Primary School); Adult Group: Hap-pea Christmas (Southfield W.I)
And a date for your new diaries: Next year’s Festival will take place the weekend of 7-9 December 2018.
St Philip and St James’ entry ‘Separation Wall’ can be seen in the Memorial Chapel.
