One of the more unusual [church roof] auction items was fulfilled recently when the successful bidder Ken Etherington took a pillion ride with Hugh Curran around the Cotswolds on a BMW 1200cc motorbike.
Ken hadn’t been on a bike since his twenties and was, in Hugh’s words, a model pillion. The sunny Sunday afternoon ride started in Cheltenham and took in Stow, via Naunton, coffee in Chipping Norton, then on to Charlbury and Burford returning to Cheltenham by the A40.
