At 7.30pm on Wednesday 12th February, Sir Vincent Fean KCVO will speak in the Big Classical building at Cheltenham College on ‘Palestine/Israel: Britain’s Key Role, Then and Now’. (Access is either from Sandford Road, via the Chapel, or from Thirlestaine Road.)
Sir Vincent was British Consul-General in Jerusalem 2010-2014. In this post he was responsible for advising the Government on its relations with the Palestinian community in the West Bank. He now chairs the Balfour Project, which seeks to shed light on Britain’s past and present responsibilities in the Holy Land, and advocates for the British Government to recognise the state of Palestine alongside Israel. He is also Patron of the Britain-Palestine Friendship and Twinning Network which promotes building relationships between local communities in the two countries.
